Strathalyn Biker Boys off to Europe again...
Planned for 22nd May to 11th June 2023
There's an addition to the family though - a brand new Bagger Manhattan
Sometimes the traditional method knowing where to go are the best. As a back up of course to Google Maps and BMW Motorrad App π
All cleaned, tyres checked, fuelled up and ready for the trip
Day 0
PC needs to have a day working in Gloucester, so travelling down on the 22nd to stay over, work on the 23rd and then set off for Plymouth on the 24th. Benefit is that we're already half way down so we can have a leisurely breakfast before the 2 1/2 hr ride to the coast - beats getting up early doors and thrashing down from home.
Anyway, in my mind I thought I heard “pack light” in Mrs C’s mind it translated to “ get as much stuff in as possible” π³
Mercure Bieden Hall Hotel - Gloucester UK (2 night stopover)
Going to keep a record of each days’ ride recorded on the computer - here’s todays’
Relaxing with 1st Prosecco, beer and food on its way ☀️π️πΎπΊ very pleasant actually. Hotel a bit “Flowery Twats” but slightly more modern. Food excellent though! The dining room looks like a front room in the photo, but actually it must have a least 100 covers and we’re in the corner π
Think it’s going to be be a glorious day tomorrow ☀️☀️☀️
Day 1
Travel from Gloucester to Plymouth after leisurely breakfast, then hop on the 24 hr crossing to Santander
Decided to deviate from the motorway and drove over Dartmoor. Peeling off toward Tiverton and dropping down to Moretonstead, Tewe and Two Bridges. So much better than smashing down the motorway.
Got to Plymouth an hour before embarking and now chilling in the evening sun.
Highlight of the nights’entertainment was definitely Mr Bubbles. Not sure I’ve laughed that much for years!! Brilliant evening and not a rocking boat insight as The Bay of Biscay was as smooth as a mill Pau
